Long Beach, California
Containing 253 suites, lounges, an exercise spa, laundry, offices and a series of roof-top terraces overlooking the harbour, the building is the first high rise structure to be located within the Naval Complex. Innovative pre-cast tilt-up concrete construction technology forms the basic structure. A series of clip-on components were added to the basic concrete structure in the form of prefabricated window walls, end walls, roof, and stairs. Mark Hall was principal-in-charge and architect of record with ARCHIPLAN / Carl Maston joint venture.
