Marine Corps Logistics Base, Barstow is the center for US Marine Corps logistics west of the Mississippi River. Prepared for the Department of Defense, the master plan provided a long range plan modernization of the logistics systems and for significant upgrading of the vehicle repair facility, plus phasing for upgrade of the original 1942 base. The base employed 2000 civilians, 1000 military staff and supported 1000 dependents and 2000 retirees in the Barstow metropolitan area. Mark Hall was principal-in-charge for development and presentation of the Master Plan to the Commandant of the Marine Corps.
