How House
Los Angeles, California
Located in Los Angeles, California, the How House was designed by Rudolph Schindler and constructed 1925-27 for Eads How. Schindler was an employee of Frank Lloyd Wright, and had moved to Los Angeles to oversee the construction of the Barnsdall House for Wright.
Mark Hall, working as an architect in Los Angeles, purchased the house in 1973 and over the next two years provided some early restoration
work on the house, including the removal of green paint which had been applied over the exterior of the original horizontal redwood siding. The house is a now designated heritage building.
