Entrance Drive Residence
Los Angeles, California
The renovation of an existing 1940’s bungalow created a view to the east, a family room/study/guest room in the existing garage, and a new garage on site. Utilizing ‘off the shelf’ technology, the existing garage roof was replaced by adding a Lord and Burnham greenhouse unit to create a two storey space from the dining room/kitchen overlooking the former garage. The existing garage door was replaced with a sliding glass door to the patio at the lower level. A spiral staircase was added from the living room to the lower study/family room/guest room. A new two car carport was added with a rooftop deck at the front yard with access from adjacent street, maximizing the use of grade differences.
