An existing 1940’s residence was renovated to add climate controlled front entry,  two bedrooms, a rear deck, a new heating/cooling system, a health spa, and revision of the basement family room. The existing residence had a significant presence on street, but had no weather protected front entry.  Teenage daughters required additional space.  Adults required a spa at basement level, adjacent to the family room.  The family room required more natural light.  The rear yard was essentially filled with the existing swimming pool.  The solution was to add two bedrooms over the lower level deck adjacent to the pool.  Large window wells added natural light to the existing basement family room.  The front entry structure provided an air lock for Canadian winters, plus closet space prior to the entry to the main level of the house.
