514 JARVIS STREET
TORONTO, Ontario
Working with the owners of this important 19th century historic building, MW HALL CORPORATION provided architectural and heritage consulting services to restore, renovate and create an addition to this early Toronto home which was designed by EJ Lennox, architect for Casa Loma and the former Toronto City Hall. The original owner of this building was a general contractor for Casa Loma, and Toronto City Hall, who had commissioned Lennox to construct this residence at the time when Jarvis Street was one of the most important residential avenues in the City of Toronto. In addition to research of early historic records for the house, the work involved restoration of important interior elements of the house, as well as essential restoration of the building exterior. Restoration and construction work was provided by Den Bosch & Finchley Inc. A follow-on assignment includes restoration of the original carriage house on the property, and construction of a contemporary addition between the house and the original carriage house. This addition includes an automobile garage with roof deck for use of the family now residing in the house.
