BRAMPTON MEMORIAL ARENA
Constructed in 1949-1950, the Arena is a designated heritage building in Brampton, Ontario. The property has important associations with the history of hockey and lacrosse. Located in the former Brampton Fair Grounds, it is a conspicuous landmark in the central core of Brampton. The building roof system, a bow-string wood/steel truss, was designed by Norman Otto Hipel (1890-1950). MW HALL CORPORATION was asked to serve as heritage architect to provide consulting services to upgrade life safety, structural and seating for the building while maintaining heritage of the structure, working with Moon Matz Ltd.
